Bonus payment.

Would you really want to wait up to 6 months to recieve your end of year bonus payment that you worked so hard to get? Remember they are a business and they don't like paying the cash at the end of the day.

  1. This was one of the hooks for me at interview when she was soooo nice and friendly. Then after a year's slog and bending over backward suddenly an ever lasting assessment process appears. Most uninspiring...

  2. Think you are going to get that bonus that is in your contract. Well you better start kissing some ass. By the way if you ask about your bonus when your year is up that will count against you "as you should wait for them to bring it up"

Also might want to read the part about being based on performance. Think if no one has complained about your class and everything seems to be going well that you'll get 100% of your bonus, then you'll be in for a surprise. You'll probably be evaluated by your assistant, and 2 managers that will have never seen your class and may have barely ever talked to you and they are not likely to give you a fair evaluation. In one particular case I know of an assistant being forced to change her evaluation of a teacher because it was too high and they didn't want to give out a bonus.

One thing they won't tell you is that if you score less than 60% is that you won't get a bonus at all. Think you'll get fired if you get that (I'd fire a teacher that scored that bad) no they'll tell you, that you should look at it as a positive that you need to improve your teaching and they will give you no specific areas where you did anything wrong either.
